Chocolate Sponge Cake without frosting

 Who doesn't like a good old fashioned classic chocolate cake? Everyone does and it's the safest bet to making any event memorable!

Chocolate cakes are a favorite among kids and adults alike! and this cake is going to be the best one you have tried with the perfectly moist, light and airy sponge topped with your favorite frosting that can be malt, cream with some berries or plain and simple sprinkled sugar.

We would like to share a perfect, easy and fail safe recipe for a chocolate cake!  

It takes only an hour and you have a 10-12 serving of a delicious, scrumptious and perfect chocolate cake ready to enjoy with any frosting of your liking. 


  • 2/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1-2/3 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1-1/4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1-1/3 cups milk
  • Your Favorite Frosting


1. In a large stainless steel bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until fluffy. 

2. Now add 3 eggs, one after the other and beat well after adding each egg until mixed well.

3. In a separate stainless steel bowl, add cocoa powder, flour, baking soda and salt

4. In the initially prepared butter,sugar and eggs mixture, add milk and cocoa powder flour mixture alternatively and keep mixing well until the batter is smooth after adding each item. 

5. Take out your Wilton Performance Square Pan and grease it with some oil then pour batter into using a silicone spoon 

6. Bake at 180°C for 35-40 minutes or until cake gets done You can do the toothpick test to see if the cake if done. 

7. Cool the cake and apply your favourite frosting.
